I walked through some of the forested area on my farm yesterday and made some exciting discoveries. Although I've tried to propagate pawpaws a few times over the last few years, those efforts were unsuccessful. However, I found several clusters of pawpaw saplings in different places even though there are no mature pawpaws here to propagate from. There are even a few growing in my food forest among my other species. They might have been brought here from animal scat. Many of those are going to be relocated this Fall to a spot where they can thrive for fruit production.

Plus, as I've been transplanting wild ramps here over several years, I finally seen them producing flowers and seed heads. So I'm hopeful they will begin spreading on their own in the future.

I also identified several great sites which will soon be the future home to some cultivated forest farmed mushrooms and herbal medicinals. Farming is not all fun and games, but yesterday was one of those days that was pure joy and excitement.
